Inside the Teenage Brain

The Center for Parent/Youth Understanding has a lot of great resources, and they recently linked to this infographic.

If you are discipling teens, you’ll want to check it out. Some surprising (and not-so-surprising) stats like these:

  • Not all teens can correctly read adult facial expressions, which can lead to miscommunication and misrepresentation.
  • Extra, enlarged synapses mean teenagers absorb information and learn faster, but are also more sensitive to external stress and pressure.
  • A teen’s brain is only about 80% developed.

What part does our mind—our thoughts, attitudes, and feelings—have to do with living out our faith? What does it take to form a biblical worldview? How can you help your teens as their brains grow? The Christian Mind is a great study!
