This session focuses on idols. To get your students thinking about how idol-worship can be a daily part of their lives, search for a commercial. Look for ads on YouTube, on a specific brand’s website (Apple, Nike, etc.), or search for Super Bowl commercials.
Select one and play it for your group. Then talk about how the product/celebrity is presented. What benefits are presented? How does the ad play into desires or create a “need”? How could this product become an idol in someone’s life?
